The shining explained reddit1/17/2023 Take it as three conspiracy theory believers over-analyzing and bringing an interesting point of view to the film. It was fun listening to these guys state their case. I liked the documentary but I was yelling "Oh bullshiiit!" at the screen over the last 2/3 of it. The film's director, Rodney Ascher, has even admitted he doesn't believe any of the theories. Stephen King, who wasn't a fan of Kubrick's film adaptation of his novel started watching this documentary only to give up halfway through as he felt that the film-makers were reaching for things that simply weren't there. Leon Vitali, former assistant to Stanley Kubrick, dismissed the theories in this film as "gibberish," saying they are entirely without merit. The Kubrick family had nothing to do with the documentary. Kurbrick didn't film a fake moon landing and put in hidden clues to that in his film for instance. Just remember that a lot of the "theories" discussed in Room 237 are not entirely.
